Scope/Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of a large-scale data network environment that will include direct, hands-on support of network equipment.
  • Provide network engineering assistance and direction for projects and point solutions that are cost effective and redundant that improve service uptime and delivery for the customer. Work with the network Engineering & Architecture team on projects with the spirit of collaboration.
  • Support the direction of global data network design standards that are recommended by Chubb’s global Engineering & Architecture Team and help develop plans for their implementation.
  • Help drive the next generation network to include Nexus and 10g delivery along with the integration of the legacy three-tiered network for transition and concurrency.
  • Provide direction and recommendations for network refresh activities to ensure all network gear is under proper support, design and maintenance.
  • Provide direction and support for DNS, DHCP and IPAM. Manage migration from Inflobox to TCP Wave.
  • Provide oversight and management of Chubb’s SD-WAN implementation.
  • Ensure network is designed based on Chubb Security Architecture best practices and drive remediation activities as required to be compliant. Interface with IT Security on a regular basis.
  • Provide direction and support for remote access technologies, such as point to point VPN connectivity as well as client to site AnyConnect.
  • Provide direction and support for load balancing technologies and associated application support with focus on CITRIX NetScaler technology.
  • Provide support to tier 1/2 personnel as needed, with the ability to have knowledge transfer.
  • Provide support to application teams from integration to production, using best practices for ADC technologies.
  • Provide support to Application Teams, Network, and Firewall groups in troubleshooting issues
  • Ability to use Citrix ADM to help in SDX/VPX management and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of CERTIFICATE management on ADM, SDX, and VPX platforms.
  • Aid in architectural conversations and designs.
  • Provide direction and support of WAN optimization technologies
  • Aid support teams in the resolution process of Sev-1 tickets. Utilize various network tools in the investigation to help focus the Trouble shooting process. As required, engage other teams to aid in resolution.
  • Enhance the Network proactive tool set by driving the continual improvement, integration and adoption of the Solar-Winds product line. Expand its capability to enhance its collection capabilities for all network devices.
  • Work with Performance Team as requested to assist with application assessments. Ability to perform packet captures to identify root performance issues in network or applications and present findings to customers.
  • Familiar with VoIP technologies (Avaya and CISCO) and ability to integrate into the LAN and WAN.
  • Proficient with Queuing theory in order to assist with performance and quantity issues with multiple application streams in the LAN and WAN environments.
  • Must be comfortable working with various teams, customers, vendors and various technology disciplines. Written and verbal communications is key for successful and efficient communications of complex topics.
  • Assist with the rollout of key OS upgrades to ensure compliance and adherence to Network upgrade policies.
  • Manage Real Estate activities as required for site upgrades, moves, refreshes and offices reconfigurations.
  • Participate in the budget planning cycle for network enhancements and upgrades by reviewing designs and working with key Network Architectures Teams.
  • Participate in BCP/DR planning exercises with the objective of improving service to the customer.
  • Help support the video conference design and operations as it relates to ongoing Video productions and support.
  • Work effectively in a multivendor, and outsourced environment and availability to work weekends to support critical activities.
