Description

The Financial Lines Operations and Product Support Manager reports to the Financial Lines Service Leader and is a key liaison between Product Management, Underwriting, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Actuarial and Finance. The individual will be responsible to bring parties together to find solutions and ensure Financial Lines is operating as efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Provide operational expertise in:
    • design of system business requirements for build of new products in the Financial Lines technology platform;
    • development of product conversion strategies and the requisite compliance requirements;
    • design of interim solutions to support products prior to full system implementation;
    • development of booking, issuance and compliance solutions for new underwriting strategies and initiatives.
  • Identify workflow efficiencies/enhancements and drive required system support in partnership with IT.
  • Identify workflow changes and document to share with the entire Financial Lines community (Field Operations, Underwriting).
  • Liaise with Actuarial in ensuring Operational workflows are in line with Financial Lines strategies.
  • Develop workflows in support of “Go Forward” product conversions.
  • Develop workflows to support existing and future broker Panel arrangement.

Project Management and Collaboration

  • The incumbent will partner with:
    • Product Development and Compliance to ensure the appropriate tools are available to issue and maintain policy forms and endorsements;
    • IT and Operations leadership to ensure appropriate decision making is executed for the Financial Lines organization;
    • Finance, Actuarial and Claims teams to ensure all design decisions lead to premium being booked to appropriate P&L codes and Coverages;
    • Product Management team on development of new products in support of Financial Lines goals while understanding the regulatory environment;
    • Product Managers and General Counsel on the development of tools supporting the conversion (disclosure notices, endorsement conversion/mapping charts, etc.);
    • Field Underwriting and Operations staff in the prioritization of workflows requiring integration and development/documentation;
    • IT on identifying solutions to meet needs of unique strategies/initiatives;
    • Learning and Development to develop the necessary job aids.
  • Coordinate product management and field requirements in the development of new/enhanced tools to support ongoing market driven changes to the underwriting process (changes to underwriting templates, workflows to support field implementation of new strategies, etc.).
  • Manage and influence resources outside one’s span of control; a builder of relationships, yet appropriately assertive in accomplishing the task at hand.
