SUMMARY

Responsible for various roles within a complex financial reporting unit, including US GAAP financial statement preparation, private equity investment results / analysis and special projects on process improvement.

RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE

The Manager, Financial Reporting, will be responsible for managing a staff of 1 to 5 individuals that will be responsible for various aspects of financial reporting for investments. This candidate will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel including other financial professionals, divisional leadership, and functional staff to interpret financial data and operational performance.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage monthly investment close and quarterly reporting to internal and external partners including primary custody and accounting vendors
  • Partner with the Accounting Policy / SEC reporting to monitor accounting rule-making bodies and assess potential impact on the investment organization and reporting
  • Lead efforts to improve the process and controls supporting the financial reporting of the global investment portfolio
  • Direct private equity accounting, valuation and monitoring of compliance with the applicable accounting governance
  • Oversight of external investment pricing including maintaining dialogue with external pricing sources and ongoing documentation of pricing policies, valuations and procedures
  • Ensure proper application of GAAP and IFRS regulations related to investments
  • Staff development

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, major in Finance or Accounting
  • CFA/CPA
  • 6+ years of accounting / financial reporting and valuation analysis experience
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting for financial instruments
  • Proven accounting experience applying GAAP / IFRS accounting principles
  • Strong project management and research skills
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and an ability to perform complex analyses
  • Mastery of end user applications (e.g., Microsoft products such as Excel/Word/Access)
