Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the effective management of assigned warehouse facility, as well as the receipt and distribution of material assets within the area of responsibility.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Manage and direct the operations of one or more warehouse facilities. Develop and implement processes and enhancements to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer service levels
  • Create financial plans, goals, and objectives
  • Assign appropriate resources, determine objectives and procedures, and monitors result to ensure inventory is accurate.
  • Ensure materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures and government guidelines/regulations and meet contract requirements
  • Manage procedures and controls for hazardous material shipments
  • Generate work assignments, manage schedules, set priorities, assign daily tasks, review employee performance, and makes employment (hire/termination/salary adjustments) decisions
  • Create and analyze reports for management, illustrating statistics and performance/production levels and key metrics; notate any errors, fluctuations, or anomalies, and suggest ways to improve performance
  • Assist with creation and management of warehouse budget, manage warehouse expenses, purchase warehouse supplies, and determine most economical shipping method of freight based on shipping priority
  • Oversee government compliance and serve as point of contact for internal auditors, government auditors, and government property administrator
  • Ensure safety of workforce by educating employees on proper procedures and safety guidelines, striving to achieve an accident free workplace
  • Perform other duties as assignedysical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions
  • Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditionsel


Minimum Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse distribution principles and techniques
  • Working knowledge of logistics/supply procedures
  • Working knowledge of hazardous materials controls, regulations, and declaration shipping procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Working knowledge of DynMRO preferred
  • Knowledge or experience in the handling and management of government property strongly desired
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills with an ability to lead, coach, and manage others
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignmentnce & Education
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in a warehouse environment
  • One (1) year of previous supervisory experience
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Active Secret Cleareance Requried

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hazardous materials certification preferred
