Responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance systems and QA improvement projects for operations.

  • Develops, coordinates, implements, and maintains QA systems for production
  • Designs and/or implements methods and procedures for inspecting testing and evaluating the precision and reliability of products and/or components and production and/or test equipment.
  • May design and/or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Prepares documentation for inspection/testing procedures.
  • May interact with customers and/or suppliers either telephonically or in person to solve reliability issues and/or answer general product questions.
  • May work from verbal and or written instructions.
  • May train others in QA/GMP related topics.
  • Generally operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed action or decision making.
  • Analyzes reports and/or return products and recommends corrective action.
  • Coordinates the activities of Quality Control Inspectors, Technicians and/or Quality Engineers.
  • Evaluates the performance of the team based on pre-established performance parameters.
  • Will coach and develop direct reports.
  • Responsible for assigned group complying with company policies and corrective actions.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, etc.
  • Very good visual acuity.

Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed proposals, guidelines, and procedures for the QA functions to departmental and/or non-departmental personnel.
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine product issues using independent judgment.
  • Must be able to routinely make decisions that affect immediate operations and may have a company-wide effect.
  • Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, a production process, product appearance, etc.)

Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated effective managerial skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Quality Assurance knowledge and understanding
  • 2+ years experience within RA/QA function and/or Supervisor experience

Education/Special Training Required

  • 4 yr degree in Engineering related curriculum
