Job Summary

Amentum is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Spectrum Manager to support the global mission requirements of the United States Navy in Hanover, MD.

If you are a motivated, detail-oriented professional looking to take your spectrum management skills to the next level, we would like to have you on our team. The global dependence on systems using the electromagnetic spectrum is increasing which drives congestion of that environment. You will use your strong foundation in spectrum to manage the wide variety of systems utilized by the Navy and their associated spectrum requirements. Day-to-day work will include the analysis of technical data for communication equipment/systems, radar systems, passive and active sensors, Electronic Attack, Electronic Warfare, and others systems, submitted through the coordination chain to eliminate conflicts in frequency assignments.

Your knowledge of radio equipment and radio propagation characteristics aids in the review and coordination at the National or International level. This position will provide you with an unique experience working with systems utilizing the entirety of the radio-frequency spectrum from direct current to daylight. You'll work with minimal oversight in the coordination with appropriate federal, non-federal, military, and other government officials. You'll also pro-actively address concerns submitted through the frequency deconfliction chain and will support education, outreach, policy review, and development, as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of the Inter-service Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) or The Army Spectrum Management Course
  • At least 10 years of experience working within Spectrum Management
  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to your start date

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the either the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) system frequency assignment process
  • Knowledge of any of the following software: Spectrum Certification System (SCS), Equipment Location Certification Information database (EL-CID), Spectrum XXI, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online (HNSWDO), and/or Stepstone
  • Experience submitting Government Master File (GMF) assignments
  • Experience coordinating with national level spectrum management offices like Army Spectrum Management Office, Air Force Spectrum Management Office, or FAA
  • Active Secret security clearance
