What you will do-

The Associate Sourcing Manager will lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities in assigned suppliers and/or commodities with the goal of obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.

The Associate Sourcing Manager will be responsible for coordinating sourcing needs for new product development projects, including completion of supplier selection with agreement to Global Sourcing Strategy, regularly reporting material costs, managing schedules, and defining final material logistics. Acts as liaison for all sourcing activities to Design and Advanced Operations teams.

Additional responsibilities of the Associate Sourcing Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure project teams adhere to strategic direction of Global Sourcing and purchasing controls requirements related to design projects
  • Leverage improvements to project timelines from experience w/ key suppliers and project teams
  • Have an influence on key project team members to inspire quicker overall deliverables for projects
  • Negotiate supplier cost reductions and NRE reductions in conjunction w/ commodities teams when cost increases experienced
  • Drive key efficiencies w/ suppliers and communication tools support faster & more product launches
  • Identify process improvements to either supplier or Stryker processes to drive better speed to market, quality and long-term delivery
  • May support more projects or projects that expand across multiple business units
  • Build engaging relationship with variety of R&D engineering teams
  • Build relationships within Operations by becoming a value-added and sought-after resource
  • Build relationships across Global Sourcing Group
  • Lead sourcing analysis and selection process and perform cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as required
  • Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans for new products.
  • Expect a mix of strategic and tactical responsibilities including attend new product development project meetings, driving requests for quotes, ordering internal samples and parts for build, resolving invoice issues, managing BOMs, supplier escalation, ERP part setup, partnering with logistics, etc

What you need-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or similar is required.
  • 6+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier development strongly preferred
  • Master’s Degree- preferred.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)- preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO13485 standards and requirements- preferred.
  • Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO13485 and ISO9001- preferred
  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry experience- highly preferred
