Job Summary

The Plans & Scheduling Manager is responsible for maintenance forecasting and establishing and managing project plans for program implementation, aircraft modification, aircraft inspections, and other projects to sustain mission requirements at over 35 CONUS operating sites and maintenance facilities.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Forecasting and preparation for scheduled and planned maintenance/inspection events, and generation of the Scheduled Maintenance Plan, for implementation.
  • Functionally supervises regional Plans & Scheduling Supervisors and project coordinators.
  • Establish and implement scheduled inspection program.
  • Forecast scheduled and planned maintenance and modification.
  • Schedule facilities and resources for scheduled/planned events.
  • Aircraft Scheduled Maintenance Tracking (Project).
  • Assist with detachment planning & preparation.
  • Establish and manage project management plans.
  • Incorporate Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to track project budget and schedule.
  • Mentor program personnel in project management of standardized plans for recurring events.
  • Coordinate project task scheduling.
  • Monitor and report assigned project status.
  • Maintain and report EVMS data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Customs and Border Protection suitability clearance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Ten (10) year’s experience in aircraft production and/or maintenance control environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems of aircraft as applied to maintenance and modifications.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software.

  • Ability to understand technical language terms and writing skills.

  • Valid State driver’s license

  • Excellent written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Inspection Authorization preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project preferred
