Mechanic 3 Production Team Manager

Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified Aircraft Mechanic 3 Production Team Manager, SCA Flight line Non-Union in support of U.S. Air Force maintenance operations at Holloman AFB NM. This contract consists of F-16 Block 40 aircraft organizational level (O-level) assigned to the 49th Maintenance Group (49MXG), 7th and 8th Aircraft Maintenance Units (AMU) contractor operation and Intermediate level (I-Level) supplementing the 49th Component Maintenance Squadron (49 CMS), 49 Equipment Maintenance Squadron (49 EMS) and 49 Maintenance Group Staff to support flying training for the 49th Wing (49 WG) training mission at Holloman AFB (HAFB), NM.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Ability to fulfill roles of Production Superintendent, Safety and Quality Monitor simultaneously.
2. Ensures maintenance is accomplished in accordance with established technical orders and coordinates on all aircraft maintenance actions.
3. Remains on the flightline when maintenance personnel are performing flightline maintenance and launching/recovering aircraft to controls and coordinates maintenance activities.
4. Directs the Production Cell Expediter, SE/Quality SCA, SE/Quality member, and Out-of-Hide QA Augmentee to manage Production Team requirements.
5. Enforces safe maintenance practices.
6. Lead Shift Roll Calls, release personnel for breaks, lunch, End-of-day.
7. Coordinate and conduct interviews for discipline as required.
8. Attends the daily/weekly/monthly maintenance planning meetings.
9. Responsible for identifying, assembling, and managing resources to include critical equipment items.
10. Ensures supply pickup for critical parts to expedite repairs if non-mission capable aircraft.
11. Monitors aircraft maintenance in progress and evaluates estimated completion time against scheduling and planning requirements.
12. Coordinates with the Weapons Expediter, ensure requirements in AFMAN 21-201 for flightline munitions accountability are strictly followed.
13. Coordinate with supervisors to select workers and assign tasks to be performed.
14. Reviews work in progress or upon completion for compliance with policies and procedures.
15. Ensures utilization of proper tools and equipment and adherence to technical data in performance of maintenance.
16. Ensures aircraft status is accurately reported in accordance with Air Force instructions, reports, and applicable supplements.
17. Oversees the expediter and MOC to ensure that actual aircraft status matches the aircraft status reported in the automated reporting system.
18. Maintains and has available for immediate use copies of the following as a minimum: Flying schedule, Emergency action and functional checklists, Base grid map with cordon overlay, IPI listings, MESL, Quick Reference List (QRL) (if developed), WUC manual, and tracking device for aircraft status.
19. Follows established Cannibalization procedures and ensure all CANNs are accurately documented in the aircraft/system forms and MIS and coordinated with MOC, Supply and approved by authorized Production Superintendent.
20. May verify and approve Mission Capable (MICAP) requisitions.
21. Understands, executes, and coordinates specific disaster control duties with regard to movement of aircraft, support equipment, and evacuation of flightline personnel. Decisions will be made based on safeguarding personnel first, followed by protecting aircraft, equipment, and other resources.
22. Maintains a current on-base disaster map with cordon overlay and appropriate checklists for use during disasters or exercises.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste and smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, in which case questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues. Night work may be required. Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Candidate also must pass an FBI fingerprint check prior to being offered employment. Position may require travel.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or maintenance technical school curriculum or possess an FAA issued A&P license.
• Previous F-16 Production Superintendent experience of at least one year is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft Maintenance.
• Must have knowledge of the scope and limitation of various categories of maintenance and their application to the contract unit.
• Must know theory and principles of engine operations; accessories and components; theory of flight; rigging of flight controls; electrical and electronic; pneudraulic; and mechanical principles.
• Knowledge of sheet metal, properties of materials, fuels, and oils.
• Read, interpret and use manufacturer’s and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, data tables and other specifications to determine feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
• Must be able to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate general as well as special-purpose vehicles.
• Must also be able to obtain a flight-line vehicle operator’s license.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

• Candidates who possess an FAA issued A&P license desired.
