Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Manager Projects & Construction position responsible for the coordination and execution of the projects in development, through proposal phase to tendering and award. The Manager Projects & Construction is responsible for the programming of Task Orders in development, through customer negotiations to award at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap (JDFPG) site and at the In-Town Services site located in Alice Springs. This position is also responsible for the management of a large team, including coaching, mentoring and developing the staff within Projects & Construction as part of continuous improvement to achieve better service delivery for the customer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the management of the P&C group and tracking of the project portfolio
  • Responsible for managing the P&C Department structure, resources, budget and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate the team of Project Managers, Project Coordinators and assigned subcontractors within P&C to ensure awarded projects will meet the scope and requirements as outlined in each Statement of Work (SoW)
  • Maintain close and direct liaison with the client /government points of contact to ensure there is a high level of shared understanding on the status of awarded projects
  • Report, monitor and review key performance measures for P&C as defined within the programs SoW and the quarterly program management review by the client
  • Maintain close and direct liaison with other program Functional Area Managers (FAM) to ensure integration and coordination of all department tasks

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen and possess or be able to obtain a TS SCI with poly or an Australian citizen and possess or be able to obtain a TSPV
  • Minimum of 5 years in project related activities, business or construction experience, or a related industry
  • Undergraduate qualifications in Engineering, Science, Electrical, Construction, Business or other Industry equivalent
  • Current Driver's License
  • Experience working with various construction trade groups and a clear understanding of the legislated requirements relating to employment within the industry
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience in Project Controls and Proposal Management

  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Experience with SAP or an Enterprise Software Business application.
  • Experience in asset and contract management
  • Experience in researching, compiling and interpreting information for development and presentation of related reports
