What you’ll be doing...

The Content Partnerships Deal Lead will be part of a deal team responsible for negotiating and securing content rights and Verizon Consumer Group initiatives.

  • Build relationships and represent the Content Team to various internal stakeholders including Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Legal and Accounting as well as with external programming partners (e.g. Fox, retrans deals).
  • Negotiate linear and OTT partnerships.
  • Develop presentations for Verizon senior management.
  • Provide direction to content settlements team to ensure accurate payment of content license fees.
  • Perform financial and strategic analysis to drive and track performance of key Verizon content initiatives, such as developing new content-related products.
  • Research media industry to provide competitive intelligence, identify emerging trends and improve existing business practices.

What we’re looking for...

Verizon is seeking a motivated, critical thinker who is passionate about the evolving video content distribution landscape to provide thorough research, well-reasoned analysis and robust financial models in support of content strategy initiatives and deal negotiations.
You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience within a content distribution/acquisition deal team, strategy or business development group, or within the cable television industry.
  • Knowledge of the cable/multichannel and entertainment industry.
  • Meaningful financial analysis and modeling experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience reviewing contracts.
  • Ability to process a high-level information to identify and solve issues that impact our business.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative, prioritizing multiple projects, and working under tight time-frames to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
