  • Leading a family of technology specialists helping to keep engineering standards in place across a discipline.
  • Leading teams with responsibilities of talent acquisition, management, career growth, team building, and mentoring.
  • Providing strategic direction and evangelism for your team.
  • Leading by focusing on what problems to solve and building the teams to figure out how.
  • Coordinating activities of the group, individual contributors and senior level personnel to meet project deadlines and deliveries.
  • Providing wide-ranging technical and logistical leadership on how best to position talent.
  • Defining and setting professional development objectives and performance goals for engineers.
  • Actively managing individual engineer performance through regular 1-1s, semi-annual review and annual performance review processes.
  • Guiding and mentoring team members, providing leadership to ensure that all individuals are empowered and enabled to perform to the full extent of their abilities.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends, particularly as they apply to current development, software development methodologies, and industry practices.
  • Understanding product development roadmaps, and partnering with appropriate stakeholders to assemble tactical teams to meet initiative objectives in an extensible, scalable, and efficient manner.
  • Actively contributing with idea sharing and brainstorming sessions contributing creatively to product development, user engagement and business revenue objectives.
  • Providing wide-ranging logistical and technical leadership.
  • Creating a lean and fast-paced environment supporting a culture to capitalize on product vision.
  • Generally managing fewer than 15 people.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by your manager.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience directly managing technical team members.
  • Management experience within an agile environment.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Service offering and deployments.
  • Previous experience with location based services.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
