What you’ll be doing...

This position leads a large team that performs surveillance operations of the Verizon Wireless Infrastructure. As our wNMC Senior Manager of Network Assurance, you will be responsible for developing a culture of excellence and efficiency in eliminating service outages focusing on the continuous improvement of our customer experience. You will lead a large team of supervisors and engineers tasked with the 24x7 monitoring and surveillance of the wireless network for service impacts: equipment faults or failure, degraded network or system performance.

This team is required to partner and collaborate with other Network groups to resolve issues in a timely fashion.

  • Managing a group of Supervisor that lead Engineers who are responsible for diagnosing and addressing network issues to meet key performance indicators.
  • Managing 24x7 team monitoring network faults and performance driving remote triage and resolution and/or escalation/notification to Network Assurance Field Teams.
  • Being available for after-hours calls on a 24x7 basis.
  • Creating goals and KPI's establishing and tracking team/individual performance responding to after–hours call outs on a 24–hour basis.
  • Establishing and setting budget goals with the Director – wNMC.
  • Participating in meetings and/or conference calls concerning problem resolution.
  • Scheduling special projects; handling other topics as required; handling customer and network troubles when escalated; and providing input for the Methods and Procedures binder.
  • Assuring ongoing quality development, maintenance and security of all network components; anticipating problems and developing innovative solutions; and supporting the safety and disaster-preparedness program.
  • Timesheet reporting and processing (Team schedules, Work hours, Vacations, OT Approval/Tracking).
  • Budget Forecasting and Management (Expense & Capital).
  • NOC Efficiency and Exception Reporting.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

As a strong and effective people leader, you will lead field engineers through change as our network and skill sets transform. As an excellent teammate, you will effectively partner with other market network teams to continue to ensure outstanding results, as well as removing roadblocks to make the field teams more productive. Strong computer skills, excel and data analysis are foundations to identifying areas for focus and improvement.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields: wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, IP networks.
  • Two or more years of managerial/leadership experience.
  • Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing and Ethernet switching.
  • Experience with Excel and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of call flow for a voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to Internet.
  • Knowledge of wireless cell site base station, router and antenna equipment.
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of circuit and RAN test equipment and network monitoring applications.
  • Strong RF Network Performance or Networking background.
  • Service provider experience in MSC and/or Cell Operations maintenance.
  • Experience with Cisco, ALU /Nokia infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, and applications.
  • Experience with Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, and Dark Fiber).
