What you'll be doing...
The Verizon Fraud Business Intelligence and Data organization is looking for highly skilled and experienced data management experts. This team is responsible for data creation, validation, and documentation with a primary focus on wireless and wireline fraud activity and risks for Fraud strategy and operations. This team also supports multiple functions across the organization to enable fraud analytics and intelligence.
The data professional will support our organization by defining and delivering data solutions for use by the Business Intelligence team, broader Fraud team, Compliance, Corporate Security, and others. Key responsibilities include: providing recommendations and solutions for improving data accessibility and accuracy, developing data management strategies, maintaining and enhancing existing infrastructure, and ensuring data security protocols are strictly adhered to. This position will additionally have data governance responsibilities and lead change management peer code review sessions.
Examples of tasks this job function would complete:
- Develop and deliver database and other data-driven solutions to support business needs and drive self-service analytics
- Explore new data sources to identify sourcing opportunities to better enhance data availability.
- Work with Fraud GTS department and vendor resources to enable end to end monitoring.
- Partner with Fraud GTS department to develop and implement reporting automation.
- Oversee data governance, integrity, and security across all data requests through validation processes and thorough understanding of data sharing limitations.
- Continuously develop and enhance understanding of existing data infrastructure and source systems as well as new technologies, tools, and methods in data architecture and BI infrastructure.
You'll need to have:
- This Opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program.
- Bachelor degree in Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Four (4) or more years of relevant work experience.
- Expert in data querying syntax such as SQL or PostGres
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration.
- Proven Data Governance experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Master degree in Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Unstructured data experience
- Flowchart and/or Entity Relationship Diagramming experience
- 5 or more years of experience in a data mining role with strong quantitative and analytical skills and a proven track record of turning large amounts of multi-faceted data into meaningful information.
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint for data manipulation and report creation.
- Familiarity with common data analysis and data visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, etc)
