What you’ll be doing...

In this business strategy and planning role, you will help lead the enterprise data strategy and roadmap, relationship management with data users in businesses and functions, understand business requirements, and manage incoming data demand. You will help define the Enterprise Data Strategy and corresponding roadmap to execute on that strategy (in line with/support of data users’ Strategies in the Business Unit). You will also define the prioritization framework for cross-Business Unit data initiatives.

This role is part of the Artificial and Intelligence (AI&D) organization which focuses on delivering the power of data and AI to drive our marketplace leadership through innovative solutions that create value for our customers, shareholders, V teamers and society, responsibly. At Verizon, we are on a multi-year journey to industrialize our data practices and AI capabilities. Very simply, this means that AI and data will fuel all decisions and business processes across the company.

  • Integrate and align with business and ensure alignment of spend, efforts and initiatives.
  • Highlight overlapping initiatives and synergies across organization to resolve duplication of effort.
  • Relationship management with various LOB's and serve as point of coordination with data consumers in businesses and functions
  • Manage incoming demand for data (e.g., understand business use cases / initiatives, translate business needs into data requirements) and provide support (e.g., identify approved provisioning points for required data).
  • Support Data Strategy Lead in developing and maintaining a perspective on how third party data could be leveraged across the Verizon ecosystem, and serve as a promoter as appropriate.
  • Hold strategy forums with LOB contacts and inner organizational contacts to align on priorities and objectives.
  • Communication and change management.
  • Structure cross-functional initiatives, syndicate with stakeholders, and deliver high-impact projects while addressing strategic questions.
  • Manage communications efforts with the businesses and functions.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a business strategy role.
  • Experience with project/program management.
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree Masters in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • Experience working on data issues.
  • Ability to make swift business decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with use cases requiring data.
  • Ability to apply business mindset to data issues and initiatives.
  • Ability to integrate cross-business strategies and manage enterprise-wide resources.
  • Strong leadership experience in a business or function role.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
