What you’ll be doing...

You’ll use your technical acumen and strong communications skills to manage analytics products across the software development lifecycle. You’ll work with stakeholders across the business to determine needs, use your analytics skills to analyze trends and identify outliers that could signal a problem, and drive business decisions. Using statistical analyses, like regression, correlation, and variance, you’ll uncover the unexpected within the expected patterns in our data. You’ll also be responsible for presenting to senior level leaders within the HR organization, telling stories with data to effectively communicate the state of the business. This includes translating highly technical mathematical and computational subjects to non-technical leaders.

You’ll need to be highly analytical and can transform complex data into easily understood actionable information. You’ll also need to flourish in a fast-paced environment and can quickly adapt to changing priorities. You’ll need to have exceptional critical thinking skills and like to uncover solutions, and will need to be flexible, dependable and work well individually and as part of a team. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn new and exciting skills around machine learning and AI, and will get access to many resources to continue to expand your skillset to adjust to new and exciting needs as the organization becomes more aware of the possibilities within the People Analytics environment.

  • Presenting deep analytics on complex HR problems to the highest levels of HR leadership, and providing recommendations on solutions.
  • Exploring suitable options and designs for specific analytical solutions.
  • Identifying gaps and implementing solutions for data security, quality and automation of processes.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with equal-level counterparts within strategic partners.
  • Driving thought leadership to Verizon HR stakeholders and develop new, fresh ideas for how people analytics can support Verizon in moving its strategy forward.
  • Developing and driving both strategic and operational plans with the People Analytics & Insights team, performance modeling, analysis and relationship management.
  • Develop new capabilities and enhance critical business processes with advanced analytics and visualization capabilities to drive new opportunities and value creation.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers across our global technology services teams to build analytics solutions focused on value drivers and stakeholder experience.

In this remote role, you'll work from home with occasional in-person trainings and meetings.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience presenting to VP-level and above.
  • Experience with Qlikview, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Finance, Data Science, or other quantitative field.
  • A master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Finance, Data Science, or other quantitative field.
  • Experience with machine learning in Python or R.
  • Strong understanding of advanced statistical methods (e.g., sampling, regression methods, classification algorithms, distributions) and experience in data analytics platforms and visualization software tools.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways.
  • Two or more years of experience in a strategy or quantitative/technical role (e.g., data science, applied analytics, mathematics, engineering) for a tier 1 management consulting firm or a leading technology firm.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the compensation range for this position is between $107,000 and $198,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
