What you will do-

As the Sourcing Manager for Stryker Spine’s Mobius Imaging, you lead the development and implementation of strategic procurement activities for assigned New Product Development (NPD)projects, suppliers and/or commodities with the goal of obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. You will also lead contract negotiations and the implementation of strategies driving cost reduction, continuity of supply, innovation, supply base optimization and rationalization, quality improvements and risk mitigation.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and implement strategies and goals for assigned projects and/or commodities, which support department objectives for quality, cost, and supplier development

  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within Stryker. Represent the ‘voice of the supplier’ in the organization.

  • Draft, negotiate, execute and enforce long-term agreements for assigned projects/suppliers. This includes interfacing with the appropriate departments such as legal, R&D, marketing, operations, quality, and senior leadership for buy-in

  • Lead sourcing analysis and supplier selection process. Performs cost analyses and make vs buy analyses as required

  • Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans including market assessments, supplier's financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, ethics etc.

  • Obtain and utilize market trends to drive sourcing strategy and cost reduction opportunities

  • Ensure cost standards are established for annual operating budgets

  • Organize and manage supplier communication, including leading/facilitating meetings, tracking action items and issue escalation as required.

  • Manage and develop continuous improvement initiatives, addressing quality, delivery, and service, as well as cost

What you need-

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; focus in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering, preferred

  • 8 years of experience with at least 6 years of experience in strategic procurement or supplier development, required

  • Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration

  • Experience operating in a highly regulated industry

  • Strong business, financial acumen and negotiation skills

  • Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base

  • Electro-mechanical procurement experience

  • Medical device industry sourcing and supplier management experience
