Job Description:

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Geospatial SME to join our team to support a highly visible, fast-paced U.S. Army program. The Geospatial SME will also serve as the business development lead for Geospatial programs. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

As the Geospatial SME you will providing technical and analytical support to address issues such as environmental management, exploration, mining, etc. Providing technical leadership and for delivering an innovative product, service or, at higher levels, a combination of products and services that address a customer's specific business problem. Must have an understanding of the geospatial environment, Army requirements and developing long-range and strategic plans, and identifying strategies and weakness of business opportunities for the corporation.

The Geospatial SME works with the team (internal and external) to deliver guidance, plans and integration with other DoD and Army systems and requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide team execution towards successful capability delivery; leverage expertise to drive solutions impacting project goals, results, and outputs

  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship

  • Maintain high standards of work product quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits

  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates, and work plans.

  • Lead, architect, design, prototype, code, test, deploy, maintain, and improve applications in response to customer requirements.

  • Use sound engineering principles to ensure that work products are maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, secure, and fault tolerant and solutions are delivered on-time and on-budget.

  • Leverage hands-on experience applying design principles to build, test, and deploy solutions into production environments.

  • Integrate COTS / GOTS applications and configure network and component constructs in support of software delivery to tactical units

  • Analyze and comprehend current system functional requirements to identify process and tool integration needs, system dependencies, integration points, system interfaces, and data flows

  • Track, analyze, and communicate commercial technology trends and recommendations to a non-technical audience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical fields and twelve (12)+ yrs of experience, or Masters with ten (10)+ years of prior relevant experience

  • Ten (10)+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Has in-depth understanding of GIS technical principles, theories, concepts and their application across range of programs

  • Has expert knowledge of industry practices, advanced techniques and solutions within a professional discipline to develop new standards, processes, and solutions

  • Experience and in-depth understanding of Army geospatial requirements and systems

  • Experience and in-depth understanding Army Geospatial Center and NGA

  • Experience and in-depth understanding of Mission Command and other PEO efforts.

  • Strong expertise with GIS, geospatial data, and geospatial products, including Esri.
