The Process Optimization Senior Specialist for Global Patient Operations (GPO) is a key team member of the process optimization (POCM) team that requires a high degree of independence, cell therapy knowledge and planning capability. The primary responsibility is to develop, improve and conduct process improvement activities across Global Patient Operations functions, including Apheresis Operations and Global Scheduling. This role will have visibility and impact across all processes within GPO and interface closely with their functional leaders. This role is based out of our corporate office in Seattle, WA. Travel up to 20% of time within the U.S. and Internationally may be required.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support, improve, and execute Patient Operations operating models including goals and KPIs, support of capital projects, etc
  • Be a key contributor in cross functional projects within Patient Operations, building flexible solutions that streamline workflows and leverage tech capabilities to meet long term employee and business needs.
  • Provide expertise and support of multiple, high-complexity end to end projects
  • Develop and implement process documentation (ex. process maps, SOPs related to scheduling, apheresis, training, logistics, e-systems, risk assessment).
  • Support alignment and harmonization of processes and communication that impact Patient Operations across cell therapy sites. and distribution/storage sites.
  • Triage performance improvement opportunities input by GPO stakeholders
  • Provide support to other POCM business units include Chain of Identity risk assessment and validation, process transfer, change management, and global training.
  • Create measures to define project progress and success; establish ongoing reporting requirements and key performance indicators

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Some knowledge and previous work experience with process mapping, Lean Six Sigma and and/or business process reengineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with all levels within the organization, and within a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated success handling initiatives of high complexity
  • Some knowledge of performance measurement approaches, tools and metrics.
  • Understanding of large system implementations, especially focused on Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree with 2 years of experience in project management, operational excellence or operations
  • Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical space, preferably Cell Therapy
