What you will do:

The Lead Training & Development Specialist is a team member of the Compliance and Privacy Policy, Education, and Communications team who has the responsibility of the development and design of Stryker’s educational programs on topics in the area of ethics, compliance, privacy, and data protection. This role requires using the best instructional design strategies and tools to deliver effective learning programs and tools for Stryker’s employees and external partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process for global training projects including accountability for planning and development
  • Design content using adult learning methodologies/programs, authoring tools, including planning, scheduling, project communication, troubleshooting issues, change management, and risk management
  • Design innovative and engaging training using multiple or blended formats, including micro-learning (e.g. videos, games, infographics, job aids), virtual, instructor-led, and on-demand
  • Utilize various software platforms and instructional design tools to create effective training and communications
  • Create and maintain documentation and execute on the design process, including leading a course owner/subject matter expert through defining objectives, creating an outline, developing a storyboard, and reviewing the training
  • Continuously improve the design process based on research and understanding of best practices
  • Partner with key stakeholders to assess development needs, source solutions, collect feedback, and evolve learning and development program offerings
  • Create and maintain a library of learning materials for key stakeholders that meet the learning objectives and needs of the business
  • Develop strategies to assess all learning modules on an on-going basis to ensure that content is developed focusing on ability to leverage adaptive learning techniques and targeted training
  • Develop strategies for continuous learning, such as the design of formative and summative assessment questions or activities on an ongoing basis
  • Manage the ongoing analysis and tracking of training effectiveness in partnership with our data analytics team

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of 4 years overall professional experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the areas of instructional design, training and development, and/or education preferred
  • Strong project management skills including setting expectations, delivering high-quality results, managing to a budget and timeline and resolving issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of needs analysis, adult learning, curriculum development, course design & delivery, and evaluation
  • Expertise in virtual training facilitation and training design software (e.g. Articulate, Articulate Rise, Camtasia, Captivate, and Storyline)
  • Visual design skills (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
  • Experience in compliance/privacy or a related functional area in a regulated industry preferred

This job may be performed from anywhere in the United States, except that this job may not be filled or performed in Colorado.
