Bristol-Myers Squibb is the world leader in Biotherapeutics for Immuno-Oncology. The Bioassay Center of Excellence is the global center for biological potency assay development, biological characterization and clinical lot release. To enable the continuous expansion of our biologics pipeline, we are looking for experienced professionals passionate about bringing recombinant therapeutics to patients to address significant unmet medical need. The Bioassay Development Scientist has the opportunity to contribute directly to efforts that support the company’s portfolio of preclinical and clinical- stage biologics. The role calls for close collaboration with Assay Development scientists, Quality Control and Compliance organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly accountable for assay development, validation and GMP testing for early and late stage development programs
  • Work closely with other assay development scientists, statisticians and with stakeholders in partner organizations
  • Generate, review and thoroughly document results, and maintain instrumentation in a GMP-compliant environment

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology or equivalent field
  • Typically 0-2+ years directly applicable experience in biopharmaceutical development
  • Experience in cell-based functional in-vitro assays
  • Experience in ELISAs
  • BIACORE/SPR or BLI experience is highly advantageous
  • FACS experience is advantageous
  • Methodical, and committed to high-quality results
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and working in a fast-paced environment; capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Works independently and collaborates with other groups
