What you will do:

The Associate Division Counsel serves as the legal resource for the Communications Business Unit of the Endoscopy Division. The role is responsible for (i) providing leadership as a member of the senior staff; (ii) providing accurate and timely legal advice to business leadership and to functional areas on a broad range of matters; and (iii) reinforcing compliance efforts to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, and Stryker policies.

  • Responsible for providing legal advice related to multiple issues affecting the Stryker Communications business unit, and making decisions related to legal matters which have a large financial impact on the business unit and company.

  • Independently draft, review, negotiate and advise on various types of commercial contracts, including but not limited to Sales, Services, Construction, Software, Repair, Product Development, Supply, Non-Disclosure.

  • Partner with Compliance to advice on compliance issues, to include matters related to interactions with healthcare professionals, AdvaMed, indirect channels, investigations, ethics and code of conduct violations, company policy infractions, US anti-kickback law, FCPA and other anti-corruption laws.

  • Following and implementing internal processes.

  • Assist in managing dispute resolution, including litigation.

  • Provide advice and legal review on all promotional materials, marketing initiatives, and co-marketing relationships.

  • Work closely with all functional areas of Stryker across various businesses and geographies, to include regulatory, finance, human resources, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, sales and marketing.

  • Work with other Legal Centers of Expertise on issues that arise to effectively support the business.

  • Address other requests for legal support and advice as required and appropriate.

What you need:

  • Law degree and admission to practice law

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience, to include in-house, preferably as a member of a leadership team, or as part of the corporate department of a reputable law firm.

  • Experience in commercial and compliance matters. Medical industry experience is valued.

  • Demonstrates good judgment, professional demeanor and business acumen.

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with colleagues in a global organization.

  • Embraces and supports change in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Reacts positively to changing needs and demands.

  • Possesses good analytical and drafting skills.

  • Experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment preferred.

  • Maintains confidential information.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
