Commercial Renewal Underwriter

CHUBB is currently seeking a Commercial Insurance Program Underwriter (Combined Underwriter/UA Role) to join the New Haven Office Underwriting team.
Job Responsibilities:
~ Underwrite a portion of the Burgee Yacht Program written through our New Haven office. Estimated written premium for this position is roughly $5M and consists of roughly 400 policies. There are 3 Underwriters in total supporting this program.
~ Lines of business would include Package (Property & General Liability), Monoline GL, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella, and Marine Liability.
~ Complete management of Standardized Tools and Inventory Management for communication with the processing centers.
~ Achieve favorable rate, retention, and profitability results.
~ Account rounding and some potential for new business.
~ Monitor and track results using CMR and PMR Futures.
~ Service accounts (internally/externally) based on Chubb Underwriting Center guidelines.
~ Develop strong marketing relationships with the broker (Gowrie) and all branch personnel in order to successfully manage the business. Business travel may be required 1-2 times annually.
