Chubb Tempest Life Reinsurance Ltd. has an immediate vacancy for an Actuarial Associate in our Jersey City office. The Actuarial Associate will be a key member of a dynamic team responsible for risk management of life and annuity reinsurance business. Primary focus is on valuation and risk management of variable annuity guaranteed benefits.

Chubb Tempest Life Re, based in Bermuda, offers specialized solutions for multi-faceted risks including elements of financial, behavioral, mortality and longevity risk. In the variable annuity marketplace, CTLR possesses the actuarial expertise and experience to analyze and structure reinsurance programs for various embedded risks including guaranteed minimum death benefits, guaranteed minimum income benefits, and other death and living benefit guarantees.

CTLR also offers direct life insurance products to individuals through its branches in Taiwan and UAE and its subsidiary in Europe.


Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis and reporting of risk components through development and maintenance of stochastic simulation models, which includes updating and running weekly, monthly, and quarterly production valuation models, compiling results and producing analytic summaries of the results.
  • Support other aspects of the life reinsurance business, including financial reporting, forecasts, hedging, experience studies, and performing sensitivity testing
