Job Summary

Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a Construction EHS Specialist to join our team in McLean, VA! As the Construction EHS Specialist, you will develop, coordinate, and implement Occupational Safety and Health Programs. Ensure compliance with all OSHA and related compliance activities including identifying and managing risks and will be responsible for incident reporting and investigation, conducting inspections and assessments, and record keeping in an operations and maintenance setting. Responsible for the implementation of EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) training/education programs.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety, and health disciplines to achieve compliance with EH&S standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs, systems, and procedures
  • Responsible to monitor and initiate action to prevent hazards in the workplace
  • Recommend continuous improvement processes with designs, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize hazards
  • Assist in facilitating employee safety training, emergency preparedness, and manage the quality of the programs presented
  • This position will interface with government personnel and subcontractors
  • All other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Biology or Chemistry or equivalent
  • Must have seven (7) years of ES&H experience
  • Must have experience in Construction and/or General Industry Safety
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR, 1910, 1926
  • Safety specialists are expected to complete ES&H professional requirements including but not limited to Certified Safety Professional (CSP), the Construction and Health Safety Technician (CHST), and/or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST)
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active security clearance up to TS/SCI with Poly is strongly preferred
