Sonar Electronics Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a Sonar Electronics Maintenance Technician to support Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Code 286 at Naval Station Norfolk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assessment/inspection support, engineering technical services, and program/logistics support for legacy SQQ-89 and associated equipment/subsystems both ship and land-based site installations
Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at company and client sites
Perform test and evaluation, check-out, certification tasks
Perform validations and verifications of various electronic systems
Assist in training others in the operation and performance of systems
Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, and other tasks as needed
Perform other position related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Six (6) years of full-time, hands-on, technician-level experience within last 10 years in troubleshooting, evaluating, and repair
- Specialized experience: Three (3) years in troubleshooting and repair of one of the following systems (experience shall have been gained within the last 5 years):
- AN/SQR-19
- MFTA Towed Array Systems
- AN/SQQ-28 Sonobuoy Receiving Systems
- AN/SQQ-89 On-Board Training (OBT) systems and subsystems
- Position requires the ability to work onboard US Navy ships and access ship repair industrial facilities
- Position may require ability to travel
- Position requires an active secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- U.S. citizenship
