Position Summary:

This role will spend significant time conceptualizing, developing and leading the development of Penske's data governance processes for customer and Market data.

This position will have heavy collaboration with Marketing, IT, the business and external data providers. They will drive data and system implementations that enable the effective use and application of Penske's customer data across the enterprise including internal departments, analytical tools, and customer outreach campaigns.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategy to use customer and market data for analytics that enable growth, deep understanding of our customer and customer retention. Provide oversight and governance on data quality, technical solutions, external sources and strategy for that data to be used across the company.
• Identify data quality issues and data process gaps --develop recommendations and requirements for the solutions.
• Create and enforce a set of rules and policies and processes regarding customer and market data across the company.
• Oversee the Data Steward function responsible for applying data processes to ensure fitness of data elements across the company.
• Work closely with Marketing analytics and campaign managers to develop solutions that enable analytics and campaigns.
• Work closely with IT to develop creative technical solutions to enable the use of the data by the business.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in business, marketing, or IT with a focus on data science, or related field.
• 5 years of data analysis experience.
• Bachelor’s in data analytics, computer science or related field.
• Master’s preferred is data analytics, data science or related field.
• Ability to use Penske’s tools to pull data for modeling, querying and tracking.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of analytics methods and practices.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, master data management (MDM), data governance, established data management principles.
• Analytical and strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to coach and lead a team in data heavy environment.
• Ability to establish strong credibility with business leaders and stakeholders through function knowledge, deep understanding of data sets and expert knowledge.
• Ability to communicate the data governance vision and strategy to all level of stakeholders in the organization.
