PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

The primary responsibility of the Manager, Quality Training is to conduct training needs analysis for departmental and business system training programs at the Bothell Manufacturing Plant. The Manager, Quality Training will support departments across the Bothell plant such as: Quality, Facilities and Engineering, Manufacturing, and additional functions as needed to develop effective strategies and tactics that align with and enhance business performance. This position draws on strategic learning and performance consultation expertise to design, develop, and implement programs and initiatives that drive organizational effectiveness, increase efficiency, and strengthen employee knowledge, abilities and performance.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Business, or similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • MS/MA a plus

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience developing and delivering technical training.
  • At least 2-3 years working in a cGMP or regulated environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a business partner by maintaining positive relationships with credibility and trust.
  • Team-orientated approach; able to establish rapport quickly and consistently and collaborate effectively with clients, team members and partners.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization from a shop floor associate to VP/GM of the site.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems before they become critical and involve leadership when appropriate.
  • Must be able to understand and implement a successful training needs analysis and recommend performance solutions that will be both cost and time effective.
  • Ability to convey both technical and non-technical material in a clear and concise manner.
  • Exceptional training and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented training solutions, strong analytical skills.
  • Commitment to achieve results by applying hard work, planning and organization, knows how to get things done both through formal and informal networks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, have a strong drive, sense of urgency, and orientated on results.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methods, strategies, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively partner with clients to understand business and performance needs, identify root causes for gaps and implement learning solutions that contribute to improved performance and business systems.
  • Implement highly targeted and focused task/role-based curricula for clinical and commercial CAR-T manufacturing facility.
  • Partner with functional subject matter experts and global training function to develop training content and curricula structure based on training needs analysis.
  • Drive training program changes that will enhance quality of program and improve time to competency.
  • Develop training metrics and KPIs to measure learning effectiveness.
  • Actively participates in cross-functional, site, network, and global training improvement projects.
  • Design strategies and develop implementation/sustainment plans for training and development projects.
  • Lead and manage learning projects including meeting planning and facilitation, project plan execution, and communication.
  • Ensure alignment of learning deliverables through the life cycle of learning projects.
  • Drive training program changes that will enhance quality of programs and improve time to competency.
  • Develop training metrics and KPIs to measure learning effectiveness.
  • Provide Organization Change Management support as needed.
  • Conduct and document lessons learned, measure effectiveness of learning solutions, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate costs and options and make recommendations for performance solutions.
  • As needed, train and interact with employees from all levels of the organization and employees with varying levels of expertise.
  • As needed, partner with the project team, subject matter experts and instructional designer to develop training materials based on needs analysis of current and future state business process and procedures.

  • Normal office working conditions.
  • Duties are largely cognitive, but the job may occasionally require minimal motor skills for activities such as moving objects, operating a computer and/or most other office equipment, keyboarding and/or word processing.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, and manual dexterity.
