PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director, Technical Training, this position will provide Coordination, Instruction and Program Development/Sustainment, within the Technical Training function, across the Leadership Management Trainee (primarily) and other Operating functions (as necessary), leveraging exceptional subject matter expertise, program delivery skills and practical experience.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead program Design and Development initiatives;
  • Lead facilitation & program delivery for Leadership Management Trainee (LMT) programs, as necessary;
  • Lead sustainment of LMT (Systems Training) programs (ie. Development of Simulation);
  • Coordinate with IS & Service Design on Design, Delivery & Sustainment of “new systems” pertinent to LMT, ATM (T&E Officer) programs;
  • Assist with facilitation & program delivery for Assistant Trainmasters (ATM) and other T&E Officers;
  • Assist with requalification of Operating employees, as necessary;
  • Assist with the delivery of Annual Safety Programs, as necessary;
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Operations Training Development to ensure appropriate coverage of LMT programs ;
  • Evaluate & Coach peers (and others) regarding effective Classroom Instruction;
  • Handle Projects and/or Administrative duties, as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School GED Diploma - required, Post-Secondary Degree - preferred;
  • 5 years of Railway experience, which would include a mix of, Business Systems expertise, Technical Training & Program Development experience, and Project Management skills;
  • Experience delivering Technical Training Programs, or experience with group facilitation - required;
  • Advanced skills in English (both written and verbal) – required, some French language skills (preferred), ability to communicate in Spanish (optimal);
  • Excellent skills in all Microsoft Suite applications & Program Design/Development software - required;
  • Formal qualification(s) in at least one Operating craft - preferred.
