Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer. This position will be located at our Jackson, MI facility.

The function of this role is the design, development, and release of new and/or existing production hardware products for Aerospace fluid conveyance systems applications. The role requires the ability to apply sound engineering principles in support of hydraulic, fuel, and coolant fluid conveyance products through the PROLaunch product development life cycle. A successful candidate would be able to work as part of multiple integrated New Product Development teams as the supporting engineer of Pro-Launch projects. This role will also support the development of bill of materials and non-recurring engineering (NRE) cost estimates for new bids and proposals.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

• Design or develop new products or re-design and develop current products.

• Lead structured problem-solving efforts to resolve issues at plants, OEMs, end users, suppliers, or in the development process in a timely manner. Develop recommendations and implement solutions.

• Write test procedures and qualification reports in support of program deliverables.

• Communicate product changes to plants, OEMs, and other functional groups.

• Obtain, communicate, and include the needs of plants, OEMs, end users, and other functional groups.

• Direct and support other engineering resources for timely completion of project objectives.

• Execute technical deliverables within the PROLaunch development process using the Aerospace Common Engineering Standards. Support completion of technical deliverables at the “Major Repeater” risk classification.

• Apply established engineering processes to complete project requirements and participate in process improvement efforts.

• Support design reviews to monitor and report project activity.

• Apply statistical and analytical tools towards effective problem-solving and completion of project activities.

• Develop and implement design requirements, specifications, and guidelines as well as test procedures and plans.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in Aerospace component design and development.

• Experience supporting new product development projects.

• Proficiency in Product Data Management systems for document control and workflow management (ENOVIA is a plus).

• Understanding of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques, and material science.

• Hose, tube, fitting, and/or coupling design experience.
