Eaton’s Residential Wiring Devices division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. This role is located out of Lincoln, IL. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,250 - $95,700 a year.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will report to the Continuous Improvement Manager supporting the development and execution of the continuous improvement strategy, which includes deployment and training on the Eaton Lean System, Operations Assessment (OpA) and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).

What you’ll do:

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing concepts, including Value Stream Map evaluation of current state production opportunities and the implementation of future state throughout all areas of operations
  • Evaluate manufacturing problems and implement improvements,
  • Increase safety and repeatability of existing processes,
  • Perform time study analysis and create standard work and line-balancing documents,
  • Aid in initiating, developing and managing capital improvement projects including manufacturing equipment, facility Enhancements and new product start-ups,
  • Drive continuous improvement on the shop floor, including opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and cost reduction
  • Coordinate and complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Create user friendly picture-based work instructions for new and existing product builds
  • Perform data analysis to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution
  • In-depth knowledge of sheet metal process, automated assembly, tooling, packaging, product design and manufacturing procedures and methods.
  • Experience working with ISO 14001 (EMS)
  • Strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical principles
  • Good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Strong Knowledge of Lean and TPM principles.
