Leidos’ Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is looking for a dynamic leader to lead our Engineering Program Management Office (ePMO). Leidos is an industry leader in the development, supply, and installation of security devices that make the world a safer place. As the leader of Leidos’ ePMO team, you will be responsible for the leadership, tracking, scheduling, planning and execution of all Leidos SES engineering projects. You will have the opportunity to work with a complete portfolio of security products in the Aviation, Critical Infrastructure, Enterprise, and Aviation sectors. The work you will do will save lives every day, and you will make a difference.

You will be responsible for leadership of the ePMO team, balancing of resources, planning and budgeting, recruitment of additional talent, and project execution. You will interface with the Engineering Directors and Product Line teams to ensure that Leidos provides security solutions that delight our customers.

Primary Responsibilities
Leidos SD&A is currently seeking an experienced leader to run our ePMO team. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the team of Engineering Project managers (ePMs) who are responsible for executing engineering programs.
  • Coach, Mentor, and grow the ePMs to act as program leaders. Drive an execution and accountability mentality. Teach creative problem solving to drive through issues and deliver on our commitments to our customers.
  • Drive a focus on process. Ensure the product development process is followed, and adapt the process as needed to meet the company’s needs.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on schedule, on budget, with the correct features, and the correct quality.
  • Own cross functional program execution, ensuring projects are manufacturable, sourceable, and serviceable.
  • Recruit, and drive performance management of the ePMs.
  • Work with engineering leads to estimate effort, develop schedules, and create budgets in partnership with Product Line Management for new programs.
  • Adapt the program execution plan to new opportunities and changes in priorities and direction.
  • Work with the product line team to plan resource loading and balancing, and proper definition or program requirements.
  • Develop metrics to measure program execution.
  • Develop and present program review materials for periodic presentation to upper management.
  • Participate in customer interactions to ensure deliveries meet customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in either Engineering or similar field with a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience or a Master's Degree with ten (10) years of related experience.
  • At least five years of direct people management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence organizational thinking.
  • Demonstrated experience with remote leadership.
  • PMP certification or project management training/certificates a plus.
  • Experience leading project management of security technologies strongly preferred.
  • Excellent skills in problem solving, analysis, priority setting, effort estimation, budgeting, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications.
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills; ability to work cross functionally with other functions and IT to get things done.
  • Experience developing and managing solutions to cost and schedule constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in priorities, budgets, or project scope.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical reports and plans (verbal/written) to executives
  • Ability to successfully work with customers, developers, testing, project management, and support Staff.
