What you’ll be doing...

As a key member of the Revenue Accounting Analytics Team, you will help build the future of data sciene in revenue accounting through value-add digital finance projects, data analytics, and process improvement initiatives. You’ll work with stakeholders in Accounting, 1RC, FP&A, and others throughout the business to drive process improvements through data science, in order to create an environment that delivers timely and accurate data. Your end goal is to recommend and implement improvements that will save time and provide greater insight into our financials.

  • Providing value to revenue accounting through data mining, analytics, modeling, automation, and testing through big data.
  • Designing creative solutions to complex finance projects to enhance controls and drive time savings by utilizing Python, SQL, and machine learning.
  • Partnering with other departments to understand complex business challenges in regards to data limitations and provide recommendations.
  • Leading digital finance automation by partnering with IT department, FTMO, and internal stakeholders.
  • Providing an easy interpretation of data through the use of data modeling, analytics, and visualization techniques to identify existing trends and data insights that drive business value.
  • Defining and driving the analytics strategy and modeling approaches.
  • Building business cases and translating findings into practical business implications.
  • Implementation and training of the GITLAB repository/domino data science platform tostore, document, track, and update all of Revenue Accounting’s python and SQL scripts

Communicating what you’ve uncovered in a way that can be easily understood by others is one of your strengths.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with data science / model design principles.
  • Experience in Relational Database such as Teradata.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, or relevant.
  • Experience in applying statistical ideas and methods to data sets to answer business problems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts/programming ability (Teradata SQL, Python etc.)
  • Capability to tackle very loosely defined problems.
  • Proven ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.
  • Experience leading teams and managing stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition standard
