Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution Sector, a part of our Aerospace Division, is currently seeking a Maintenance, Engineering & Facilities Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Rumford, Rhode Island facility.

The Plant Maintenance, Engineering & Facilities Manager provides support to manufacturing and is responsible for the maintenance of equipment and buildings. This position leads the process engineering team to plan, organize, and manage continuous improvement and capital projects. The plant maintenance team reports to this position as well.

In this function you will:

  • Be a champion of plant safety programs and lead others by example.
  • Direct maintenance activity and strategy within the plant to allow the highest level of production efficiency while maintaining equipment longevity and product quality.
  • Lead preventative and reactive maintenance programs while minimizing maintenance costs. Review, approve, and assign all internal work requests.
  • Lead the annual maintenance/facilities budgeting process for assigned departments and be responsible for departmental spending.
  • Provide recommendations on capital expenditures, and work with engineering and plant departments to lead and coordinate capital projects.
  • Coordinate and lead engineering and continuous improvement projects within the plant.
  • Work collaboratively and in support of the Plant Manager and other Department Managers
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with environmental programs and provide leadership on environmental initiatives in the plant.
  • Oversee the development and execution of departmental SOPs for maintenance, parts inventory, energy management, and other departmental functions.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of plant goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.
  • Manage performance, hiring, training, and development of maintenance and engineering staff including apprenticeship programs. Assess needs and drive continuous learning for team members.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, Or 10 years of equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in maintenance and repair of production equipment
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience leading engineering/continuous improvement projects
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Rumford, RI facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with managing capital projects - including scope, estimating, development of timelines, cost tracking, startup, and production turnover
  • Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Works well under pressure, meets deadlines and is flexible while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment/process failures and preparing Root Cause Analysis
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to set direction and work independently
  • Proficiency working with PLC's, electric motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be an effective and proactive communicator
  • Lean manufacturing training/certification a plus
  • Is a team player; maintain positive relationships with employees, supervisors, and department managers
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
