Eaton's Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of the Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to join our team. This is based at our Jackson, MS office. Relocation within the United States is provided for this opportunity.

Position Overview:

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The Quality Engineering Manager, will be responsible for interacting with customers and regulatory personnel regarding Quality Management System compliance to regulatory and customer requirements; Quality support of New Programs including proposal review, Quality requirements, hardware conformity, etc.; managing Supplier Quality including proper identification and communication of supplier nonconformances, RCCA for supplier nonconformances and supplier Quality audits / assessments, as well as providing FAA-approved Inspection and Signatory coverage for repairs, spares, and new production shipments requiring conformity certification.

In this function you will:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the New Program Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers to drive proper implementation of New Programs and improve supplier performance.
  • Implement, monitor, and develop actions related to key metrics of Supplier DPPM, Supplier Corrective Action Responsiveness, and reductions in supplier generated Material Requests (MR).
  • Perform supplier audits/assessments to the requirements of the required Quality Management System [i.e., ISO 9001, AS9100, Eaton Quality System (EQS)]. Determine areas where corrective actions should be issued.
  • Analyzes data to determine performance level of suppliers. Determine areas where supplier improvements are needed and drive actions.
  • Assure the development, publication, and maintenance of quality assurance procedures that contribute to the production of products that conform to customer requirements.
  • Work with resident government and/or customer quality personnel to interpret or reach agreement on procedures and performance of equipment. Ensure compliance with government regulations, including Government Property Management, per contract requirements.
  • Recommend and enforce inspection and quality system policies and procedures within the facility. Work closely with other departments to alleviate quality problems related to procurement, processing, and design. Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques.
  • Maintain and coordinate customer approval of Material Review Board representatives and procedures.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct professional support from all business functions for quality audits.
  • Analyze, review, and recommend responses to customer quality requirements contained in contracts, purchase orders and specifications, including comments, alternate requirements or cost data on requirements deemed unsatisfactory.
  • Chair the Internal Audit Team and provide expertise regarding the scheduling of Internal Audits, Auditor training, reporting requirements and corrective action verification techniques.
  • Administer the Product Audit process including the selection of audit personnel and products to be audited, performance of audits, audit reporting and corrective action follow-up as required.
  • Manage Corrective Action processes, including Preventive Actions.
  • Oversee the Software Quality Assurance Program to include support for the various computerized business systems, configuration management and automated test stand program software as it relates to test stand certification and calibration.
  • Support the activities of FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval Program, MRB System coordination and related training activities.
  • Direct the implementation and maintenance of the Quality System to assure compliance and continued certification to AS9100, EQS and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the FAA Aftermarket Repair Station

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in business or a technical discipline.
  • Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment in quality, design engineering or quality management systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, TS16949).
  • Three years of experience managing direct reports.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 60-mile radius of the Jackson, MS facility will be considered.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with AS9100 Quality System and product/process auditing techniques.
  • Schedule flexibility to be on-site during weekend operations as needed
  • Experience working under Federal Aviation Administration regulations for Repair Station work.
  • Detailed knowledge of Aerospace product, manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.
  • Experience in aerospace products and applications.
  • ASQ certification (Quality Auditor, Engineer, or Manager)

  • Supervisory skills required to administer and coordinate departmental activities including orientation and training, and adjustments in employee status.
  • Understanding of Quality Control and background in root cause failure analysis and problem-solving tools.
