This requires the understanding of firmware and hardwarearchitectures which are flexible and extensible across a broad scope ofproducts. You will also participate in system-level requirements analysis andcost estimation, design reviews and other team development processes. Successwill require keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies, components andmaterials. Its where bold, brightprofessionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help usreach ours.In this function you will:+ Realizeproduct requirements in coordination with the Power Electronics Team, forthe design and development new and innovative Traction Inverter products+ Investigateand analyze new materials, components, technologies, applications andtheir appropriate use within our product lines+ Conducttesting of all new products in accordance with CPD standards and customerrequirements+ Providesupervision and support to internal and external design resources whenappropriate (e.g. PCB layout, software development, other engineers, testlaboratories)+ Reviewand conduct analyses (FMEA, simulations, modeling, etc.) on new productsto ensure their integrity and use the results to optimize designs+ Successfullylead contractors and other resources either co-located or at internationallocations+ Establishand maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers andvendorsWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgroundsthat make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company arestronger.QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accreditedinstitution required+ A minimum of five (5) years Electrical/Electronichardware experience - power electronics/inverters for industrial oraerospace or military drives, battery electric and hybrid electric vehiclesystems+ A minimum of ten (10) years in the automotive industry+ Experience with CAD tools: circuit and behavioralsimulation (SPICE, Simplis, Ansys, Matlab/Simulink) PCB layout guidance+ Experience performing design verification testingPreferredQualifications:+ MastersDegree in Engineering from an accredited institution+ 15years plus experience Electrical/Electronic hardware - powerelectronics/inverters for industrial or aerospace or military drives,battery electric and hybrid electric vehicle systems+ Knowledgeusing DFSS and DFx practices: Manufacturing, Test, Repair, Quality, etc.+ Experiencewith model-based design methods+ Firmwaredesign+ Workingknowledge of automotive serial data protocols (CAN, CANFD, J1939, FlexRay) and tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CANopen, etc.)+ Supervisingother engineering tasks (assembly drawings, PCB layout, softwaredevelopment, validation testing)+ PCBAand Final Product Testing experiencePosition Success Criteria:+ Goodunderstanding of vehicle markets and the environmental requirements andrelated qualification testing required+ Goodinterpersonal skills, particularly with respect to written and oralcommunication+ Abilityto operate with minimal supervision+ Abilityto work in a hands-on laboratory environment with common lab equipment(O-scopes, DMMs, Network and Spectrum analyzers, Dynamometers, mechanicstools, etc.)We are committed to ensuring equal employmentopportunities for all job applicants and employees.
