What you’ll be doing...

This internship position – which is part of the Verizon Campus Program – will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. You’ll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Global Network & Technology Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.

As a Cloud Computing Engineering Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

• Gain knowledge and experience with multiple implementations of Kubernetes, microservices, and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment or Delivery).
• Being a part of the building of VCP Far Edge microservices requires extensive java and python programming experience.
• Helpdesign and develop APIs with a single purpose to add to the configuration, logging, and monitoring of Far Edge resources.
• Work with a larger team on projects developing automation applications to support Verizon cell site builds.
• Be able to design and build code to deliver a best-in-class application/tool without compromising delivery timelines and the performance of the current production systems.
• Learn how to work with internal VCP teams and outside team’s HQ Planning, Maintenance Engineering, and VCP Far Edge Engineering).

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

You’ll need to have:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or related major with an expected completion date between December 2022 and June 2025.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Willingness to work in Branchburg, NJ.

Even better if you have:

• Demonstrated strong analytical skills, communication, leadership, and presentation skills..
• Experience with scripting such as Python, Shell, Ruby, Perl, or Bash is a plus.
• Knowledge about distributed systems, Cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Knowledge about DevOps tools and frameworks .
• Knowledge about Kubernetes solution architecture.
