Eaton's Electrical Sector is hiring a Lead Electrical Engineer in Woodridge, IL. We offer a hybrid schedule and the opportunity to work with a variety of our high end products!

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $134,200 a year.

What you’ll do:

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our hardware engineering team and be responsible for the electrical design of our power and communication products! Responsibilities of this role will include the electrical design of power circuits, magnetic components, transformers, and microcontroller-based control and communication systems, as well as collaboration with other teams on the following areas: Firmware development, regulatory compliance, project management, testing, mechanical and thermal design, and product maintenance.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering orequivalent with a minimum 3 years ofexperience in one of the following: Analog circuit design, microcontroller circuits, linear regulators and switching converters, communication circuits, lithium-ion battery packs, single and three phase power circuit
  • At least 1 year of experience in PCB design
  • All candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Woodridge, IL. No relocation is being offered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications (candidates are not expected to have all the preferred qualifications)

• MS in Electrical engineering

• Experience designing products with microcontrollers and digital communications

• Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium

• Experience designing AC/DC or DC/DC converters

• Experience designing battery packs or chargers

• Experience with transformer and magnetic component design.

• Experience with analog or digital control loops.

• Experience with three phase systems.

• Protocol knowledge and debugging high speed systems such as I2C, Ethernet, other board busses. Experience with the External Memory Interface (e.g. DDR2, DDR3).

• Working knowledge of embedded system design using ARM, Microchip, MIPs etc.

• Experience with High Speed I/O application design, Transceiver, Signal integrity simulation, JTAG and Board level simulation

• Experience in simulation, verification, and hardware/ board debug.

• Experience with high-speed test equipment (Scopes, BERTs, Spectrum Analyzers)

• Familiarity with safety agency design requirements and designing to meet EMI requirements.

Position Criteria:

• Author technical documents, test requirements, reports and diagrams to support new development efforts and maintain existing products.

• Perform design activities including schematic capture, design constraint creation, PCB layout oversight and collaboration.

• Occasional domestic/international travel maybe required (up to 10%)
