Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Senior Materials Engineer. This position is based at our Euclid, OH facility.​

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

The Senior Materials Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing and engineering, as well as performing or directing materials testing (mechanical, metallography, chemical etc.) as needed for Eaton and outside customers. This role will be the key materials engineer at the Euclid site. This position will also be responsible for select lab standards, equipment and documentation related to special processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform fatigue and as needed testing to support Eaton’s additive manufacturing group.
  • Write and modify lab test procedures, train personnel in use/implementation.
  • Support other Eaton Sites for materials and processing (M&P) issues when needed.
  • Prepare and analyze samples for metallography and chemistry as needed.
  • Providing technical support in Manufacturing (i.e., Nitriding and Metal Heat Treatment)
  • Assisting, conducting, and preparing reports for Failure Analyses.
  • Communicating both orally and in writing with other departments and cognizant engineers in a precise, logical, informative, and tactful manner.
  • Consult with cognizant engineers to determine if additional testing is warranted if test results are questionable.
  • Review and application of Industry Specifications.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in materials testing and/or evaluation.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NADCAP and/or AS9100 knowledge and/or experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in heat treatment.
