Internship: Mechanical Engineer - Raleigh, NC

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern

The rate for this position is $4200 per Month.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Internship develops students with an interest in Critical Power Systems. Participants will have the opportunity to support Eaton’s CPS division through practical experiences. This role provides personal development and the opportunity to grow leadership attributes through training, networking and coaching. The assignment will help the participant develop a wide range of leadership, functional, and technical competencies within the field of engineering.

The core technical skills and focus for the Eaton teams are on:

1. Thermal analysis and simulation of power conversion devices and subsystems.
2. Mechanical design of sheet metal structures, copper and aluminum bus bar, wiring harnesses and high-power critical power systems.
3. Structural analysis and simulation of power conversion devices and subsystems in transportation and seismic shock and vibration environments.
4. Assembly, test and evaluation of prototype hardware.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree level program with a focus in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
• Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Raleigh, NC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in high-power critical power systems such as three-phase UPS’s, EV chargers and battery cabinets.
• Prior internship or co-op experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts.
