The Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing the development, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and
generally works as a member of a engineering team on more complex assignments or as the sole worker on less complex assignments.

Job Description:

Responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and
generally works as a member of a engineering team on more complex assignments or as the sole worker on less complex assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas independently.

Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review. Assist in generation of specifications and engineering data.

Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence.

May provide training to less experienced engineers.

Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.

Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.

Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem
specifications.

Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards.

Conduct site visits and investigate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives and provide recommendations

Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies

Support development of technical proposal and provide comments

on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years of professional experience Experience with mechanical engineering in field and design work. Ability to perform calculations and analysis of mechanical engineering problems.
Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen only. Dual Citizenship will not be accepted for this position.

Position may require travel


Preferred Qualifications

Master degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience with DOE

PE License a plus
