Eaton’s Vehicle Division is currently seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Tualatin, Oregon facility.

Position Overview:

Functionally responsible for monitoring and measuring supplier performance and ensuring root cause and corrective actions are implemented for supplier non-conformities leading to customer escapes, internal rework/rejection and scrap. Develops process improvements and cost control programs throughout the plant.

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for supplier management for daily operations including
  • Investigation of quality issues and communicating to vendor the problem
  • Use of 8D/Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) processes
  • Negotiating and instructing reworks
  • Part returns using in house Return Materials Authorization process (RMA)
  • Defective Material Returns process (DMR or red tag) disposition of parts from the floor
  • Supplier Improvement Activities
  • Coaching vendors on investigations if needed
  • Supplier visits (limited to US) occasionally to perform process reviews or FMEA’s
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) administration
  • Representative for facility in supplier meetings/calls, including international contacts
  • This role is an individual contributor and has no direct reports
  • This role is expected to work independently without supervision

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution or five (5) years of electronic technician experience
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of Tualatin, Oregon will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from accredited institution
  • Three (3) years’ experience electronics manufacturing
  • Tier 1/2 manufacturing or supplier work experience
  • Basic SAP needed for transferring parts, scrap, stocking
  • Demonstrable skills with MS Office Excel/Word/Power Point; Access is a big plus but not required
  • Familiar with Engineering software used to manage change orders, parts drawings, etc. Enovia/Windchill/Jira
  • Six Sigma yellow or green belt or Lean Manufacturing workplace training
