Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Position Overview:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for flow-down of customer requirements, engineering product key characteristics, and assurance of in-process, final test requirements, and shipping / receiving inspection processes.

In this function you will:

  • Develop, communicate or train, and ensure adherence to quality standards, product specifications, work instructions and procedures across a multifunctional manufacturing organization
  • Lead cross-functional teams in deploying continuous improvement activities, remediation actions and root cause analysis through various quality tools and processes (A3, 8D, 5why, fishbone, etc)
  • Evaluate, communicate and rectify in-process rejections, obtain disposition and implement containment, corrective and preventative action to ensure product performance and specification attainment
  • Implement and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC), analysis, monitoring and reporting to maximize reliability and inspection efficiencies
  • Ensure end to end quality through customer focused issue resolution supporting supplier quality, customer quality management, report outs and other externally facing quality activities.
  • Manifest a quality culture in all activities through quality management system activities and regular audits including Eaton QMS implementation, ISO 9001 audits and related activities, and employee engagement events..
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
  • Must have 2 years minimum experience in an engineering function
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, electrical engineering or mechatronics engineering preferred
  • Experience in a quality engineering function in a manufacturing organization with a focus on electrical or electronics products preferred
  • Experience in developing quality procedures and quality management systems preferred
  • Experience in technical writing with focus on electrical and mechanical engineering preferred
  • Experience in technical project and program management preferred
  • Experience in supplier quality management preferred

Position Criteria:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to use a variety of computer systems including Microsoft office and assigned technical software
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and multiple projects at once
  • Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team
  • Ability to read and understand forms, blueprints & schematics, including bills of material, ECN’s, tolerances and special notation.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings including electrical drawings, one line diagrams, power flow diagrams, mechanical blueprints and other electrical and mechanical drawings
