Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer.​

The expected annual salary range for this role is $62250.03 - $91300.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

Eaton Mission Systems -Pressure Technology Solutions, Westminster, MD site is seeking a Quality Engineer to implement quality plans on products and programs; provide support and direction in the implementation and administration of quality systems; and coordinate quality related issues with customers, suppliers, and other functional disciplines.

The position requires a solid understanding of QA requirements and the flexibility to apply fundamental Quality Engineering skills and concepts across a typical program lifecycle. This role will be the Quality Engineering department’s on-site interface with the Westminster, Maryland site and may involve coordinating technical resources within our engineering matrix or other organizations while working the daily quality issues.

Responsibilities :

• Using a solid understanding of QA requirements and flexibility to apply fundamental Quality Engineering skills and concepts across a program lifecycle. By identifying and evaluate risks, trade-offs, and mitigation plans for tailored QA requirements.

• Employ a rigorous and methodical approach to problem-solving and identifying root cause and corrective actions

• Leading process investigations and nonconforming material review and generating corresponding reports

• Participate in customer return process to include failure analysis and corrective action

• Develop corrective action processes and continuous improvement programs for supply base

• Develop and execute process and product assessments and audits from the planning stage through verification of corrective and/or preventive actions

• Deliver independent, data-driven technical advice to management and customers through effective verbal and written communication

• Analyze and trend quality data within value stream to drive preventive and corrective actions and continuous improvement

• Participate in yearly audits of the quality related systems and procedures in accordance with AS9100

• Travel to suppliers and/or facilities while representing the company and department in a professional manner

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR 2 years of experience or Associates degree in an Engineering field and 5 years of Engineering experience.

-This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee.

-Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

-No relocation provided – Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Eaton's West Minster, MD location

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience working with and the manufacturing of composite component

-Project management experience that will drive continuous improvement by leading Root Cause Problem Solving Projects.

-Experience or working knowledge with QMS standards including AS9100, such as lead auditor training

-Educated and experience with the use of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, APQP, Zero Defect, tools/ mindset

-Proven problem solving skills

-Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and nonconformance reports

-Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans Experience with geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T) principles
