Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer (ATS). This role is located out of El Paso, TX. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

This position is responsible of the planning and execution of getting material needed at the right time and right quantity and responsible for Inventory Value, DOH, E&O for each product line. This individual will work closely with the plant operations teams to deploy standard process and tools to optimize materials operations, manage Supplier leadership discussions, escalations to buyers and Commodity Managers. This will include onsite support for driving continuous improvement and problem solving.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the plant’s zero-defect initiative while driving efforts to improve quality trends and to reduce costs associated with rework, scrap and warranty claims in line with Divisional goals.
  • Utilize a working knowledge of ISO 9001 and Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) requirements to maintain an effective Quality Management System.
  • Maintains assigned Procedures and Systems to ensure continued compliance with the ISO-9001 international quality standard and EQMS
  • Supports the maintenance and monitoring the plant’s quality performance metrics.
  • Interact with customers and field sales engineers as necessary to resolve quality issues through the use of the Customer Quality Management system (CQM) and related processes.
  • Work with local COE engineering and design engineering to assure that product configurations provided meet customer expectations for quality and the plants expectations for manufacturability and quality system documentation.
  • Develop and coordinate problems and activities to assess and improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Maintain frequent contact with management, engineers, technicians, and other company personnel to discuss and resolve quality reliability.
  • Interact with suppliers and coordinate supplier quality initiatives for the plant including leading the monthly supplier quality review meeting with the Supply Chain team.
  • Plan and coordinate the use, calibration, maintenance, and application of all electrical test equipment and process control equipment within the company.
  • Oversee the collection and analyze production data to assess and monitor product quality and reliability.
  • Develop statistical analysis and related quality assurance reporting information for review with manufacturing management’s
  • Coordinate annual reviews of existing Process potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PpFMEA) and Control Plans in line with EQMS expectations while also developing these documents for new products.
  • Coordinate activities to complete measurement system analysis and capability studies on key processes in line with EQMS expectations using Minitab.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited institution
  • More than 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, Quality Management System and Six Sigma.
  • Detailed knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.
  • Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Training and experience with quality assurance concepts, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, MSA’s, Capability Studies, PpFMEA’s, Control Plans, ISO 9001, dimensional analysis, auditing and Supplier Quality Management.
  • Possess project management skills to direct the activities of small to medium size projects
