Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer. This position is based at our Indianapolis, IN facility.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will engage the supply base as an integral part of our business in the drive for zero defects quality performance. Responsible of the management, execution and report of Mobility -ELC Supplier Quality processes at the plant level. Drive and support supplier performance improvement activities with critical and low performance suppliers.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Support / Perform the execution of processes and tasks associated with supplier performance improvement.
  • Manage and monitor supplier quality performance through WISPER (DPPM/ DMR / PPAP / 3rd Party certification). That includes suppliers of production parts/material, externally provided processes and services.
  • Lead/support process assessments and other supplier performance improvement activities.
  • Participate on monthly focus supplier reviews with plant and regional quality teams.
  • Develop leadership skills Eaton competency model.
  • Participate on the monthly 1:1 with manager.
  • Complete Annual quality functional competency
  • Ensure alignment of position activities to department’s goals.
  • Maintain / oversight of the supplier quality management systems.
  • Ensure that the Mobility CV supplier quality processes are established, implemented, measured, and maintained within the plant.
  • Ensure Eaton supplier quality requirements are known by the supply base.
  • Support plant quality personnel on-boarding process with training on standard supplier quality processes and requirements.
  • Maintain WISPER as the main tool for supplier quality performance evaluation.
  • Manage / Monitor Supplier Performance - WISPER
  • Manage the Defective Material Report process (DMR)
  • Manage Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and provide final disposition.
  • Monitor receiving inspection activities to ensure incoming inspection plan adherence.
  • Drive the focus supplier process – identify, select, oversight improvement, validate - to ensure supplier compliance to Eaton’s quality expectations and to prevent future disruptions.
  • Review supplier performance to identify focus improvement activities for the suppliers with least favorable quality performance.
  • Support development of supplier improvement plan and monitor/validate implementation of corrective / improvement actions. Document focus supplier process as required.
  • Direct escalation for suppliers not achieving improvement as planned during the focus supplier process.
  • Support proactive supplier improvement activities. Perform proactive supplier process assessment reviews at identified supplier sites.
  • Support Plant Quality operations.
  • Support APQP / Safe Launch activities. (Supplier APQP /PPAP, definition of incoming inspection plans, performance monitoring, etc.)
  • Manage plant MCO process for supplier deliverables. Participate on the supplier change request meetings to ensure voice of quality is represented to determine feasibility of the change and to provide direction on supplier requirements for approval.
  • Participate on the Material Review Board (MRB).

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Metrology, Materials and/or Industrial from an accredited institution

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in a quality and/or manufacturing function

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

• No relocation is available for this position. All candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Indianapolis, IN to be considered. Active duty military personnel are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5) years or higher of professional experience within quality field with exposure to an international environment

• Certified internal auditor
