Eaton’s Mission Systems is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician III to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.

Position Overview:

The Quality Engineering Technician III will conduct Quality Management System assessments, compliance verifications, and gap analysis to ensure Mission Systems of Orchard Park is meeting and exceeding internal, customer, and industry standards such as AS9100. This role will support regulatory and agency inspections, audits, investigations, and inquiries regarding the control and assessment of product design and manufacturing quality.

In this function you will:

  • Conduct Quality Management System assessments, compliance verifications and gap analysis to ensure Mission Systems of Orchard Park is meeting and exceeding internal, customer, and industry standards such as AS9100.
  • Support regulatory and agency inspections, audits, investigations, and inquiries regarding the control and assessment of product design and manufacturing quality.
  • Review the adequacy and correctness of changes to Procedures, Documents, Work instructions, Specifications, etc.
  • Assist with reporting the health of the QMS to the management team based on the assessments to allow for collaborative course corrections.
  • Assist with the preparation of the information needed for the monthly site quality council review.
  • Participate in plant CAPA activities, including analysis of data and trends in complaints, supplier quality, nonconforming material, training effectiveness, and root causes analysis.
  • Participate with training new hires and preforming operators’ initial qualification audits as well as regular frequency operator assessments.
  • Interact with management, Engineers and Manufacturing associates and at times suppliers, in the resolution of quality problems.
  • Act as a liaison during customer/government audits and inspections.
  • Assist with the generation of process, procedures, standard work, audit checklists, and layered audit assignments.
  • Take part in continuous improvement by participating in Root Cause Problem Solving Projects.
  • Maintain performance management Key Performance Indicators and board and participate in performance management meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: A high School diploma and 5 years related manufacturing, quality, industrial and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, OR:
    • A 2-year degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 1 years’ manufacturing, quality, industrial or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, OR
    • A 4 year degree in a technical discipline
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in problem solving techniques, 5 Why, 8D, FMEA, Control plans, APQP.
  • Programming knowledge (e.g., HTML, Visual, Python, etc.).

Position Criteria:

  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have experience of quality engineering quality tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Established organizational, communication, continuous improvement, and problem-solving skills
