We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our customers within the Strategic Microelectronics Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane.

We are looking for someone willing to dig in and take an active role in deconstructing microelectronic parts. The ideal candidate would take their hands-on experience and technological solutions to improve processes and procedures and then support the development by designing fixtures, software, and/or non-traditional techniques.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience required
  • Hands-on experience with handling and machining small parts, such as microelectronics
  • Experience in laboratory environments, including:
    • operation of microscopes and other analytical equipment
    • chemical safety
  • Working knowledge of machining equipment and practices
  • Applied knowledge of geometry and algebra for physical applications
  • Experience in Quality Assurance and/or Failure Analysis
  • Demonstrated capability to learn through hands on training
  • Advanced knowledge for the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of CAD software
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to engage on a multidisciplinary team of technicians, scientists and engineers
  • Ability to identify and support opportunities for process improvements through fixture design and integrating new techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of techniques for failure or material analysis of microelectronics
  • Basic knowledge of microelectronic construction
  • Working knowledge for microcontroller programming
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft VBA
