Eaton’s Commercial Products and Assemblies (CPA) division is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for its Panelboard / Switchboard Satellite Operation in Atlanta. The Engineering Technician will be located at our Smyrna, GA location.

The Engineering Technician is responsible for the technical and customer service communications and processing for all incoming panelboard and miscellaneous orders for the Atlanta satellite. This role is the heartbeat of our panelboard operation and thrives on customer-centric interaction, a focus on process, and a desire to build technical knowledge.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $52499.97 - $76999.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Acknowledge and schedule incoming panelboard and miscellaneous orders.
  • Identify and order all advance purchase and non-stock material for incoming orders.
  • Own the manufacturing order generation and process for panelboard and miscellaneous orders from start to finish.
  • Ensure job packets for incoming orders are assembled correctly and efficiently.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding panelboard and miscellaneous orders from both a technical and product perspective.
  • Support all respective information systems and maintain streamlined operations.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve overall facility performance to promote an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Support the production floor with technical questions regarding panelboard and miscellaneous orders.
  • Engage with satellite leadership and business unit staff to ensure organizational goals and objectives are realized.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED) from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that reside within 50-mile radius of the Smyrna, GA facility will be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration, supply chain management, engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (sales, supply chain, production, engineering) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, electrical diagrams (schematics, powerflow), and/or manufacturing drawings preferred.
