GENERAL SUMMARY:

Job Description Summary
Provides technical support to engineers and scientists on a variety of technical tasks. Develops and recommends procedures and methods and prepares technical reports and documentation. Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root cause; recommends corrective action. Responsibilities are within the Technical Specialty/Skilled Trade Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.

This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training. The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making. The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline. The technical procedures for this level are well defined. The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines. This job typically requires a minimum of 2 or more years experience.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs tasks requiring considerable judgment in determining work methods, interpreting results and writing clear and accurate reports.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Conduct maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment and software tools.
  • May build and test mechanical models, electrical circuits and assemblies, software, and/or perform basic analyses requiring knowledge of scientific and/or laboratory techniques.
  • Work from prints, drawings, method sheets, diagrams, workmanship standards or other specifications in accordance with established assembly procedures
  • Record accurate maintenance and calibration data in medical device monitored environment
  • Monitor and record test related documentation to meet quality requirements
  • Build prototype electrical test fixtures
  • Works with technicians and may assist engineers in evaluating and improving designs or processes.
  • Train and certify others to the duties and responsibilities as required
  • Collect, analyze, maintain and test report data from production processes using proper measurement techniques and implement corrective actions
  • Communicate and work with all aspects of production team, including operators, other technicians, engineers, analysts, and management to identify and resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot and fault isolate equipment.
  • Compare results against predetermined limits and write clear and accurate test result reports.
  • Build and repair wiring assemblies
  • Perform other related duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years of experience with Electronics

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Proficient in manufacturing processes, procedures, and systems in order to identify and implement improvements
  • Proficiency in a wide range of mechanical fabrication skills
  • Experience developing and implementing tools and fixtures into a production environment
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts and practices
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good reading and math skills
